Unit Themes
"See What I Saw" takes the child on an imaginary trip to Grasshopper Park where they sail down the park slide and then recreate the sound of that experience with a looong vocal glissando. Recreating this experience at home is a snap with the park play set complete with trees, grass, a fence, a lake, two children, a silboat and more. Imagine That!
"Toys I Make, Trips I Take" leads the child on a magical journey into a remarkable Toy Shop filled with boats, trains, balls, jack-in-the-box and many other toys that bring a glimmer into a child's eyes. While the excitement may begin in the toy shop, it may end on a tropical island. Imagine That!
"Hello Weather, Let's Play Together!" explores sunshine, rain, snow, thunderstorms and more in this imaginative and delightful weather-related musical adventure. Whether creating storm sounds on a drum or throwing pretend snowballs children and their families are encouraged to get outdoors and enjoy the world around them. Imagine That!
"Cities! Busy Places - Friendly Faces" transports the child into a Kindermusik city, where ordinary sounds and sights on the street make a musical ensemble. People shuffle their feet to a 4/4 beat. Street musicians serenade and sing. Clock towers boom, bellow and ring. You and your class will co-create a city that's familiar, yet like no other. Using Kindermusik's visual tools and home activities, children will transform the classroom, build a city out of handcrafted "buildings" and walk down sidewalks made of masking tape and freezer paper.
